I am a French & US journalist specialized in gender violence and feminism. I have worked from the US, France, Spain, Senegal, Mexico, Argentina and Chile, breaking stories for outlets including TIME Magazine, The Guardian, The Atlantic, Foreign Policy and The Nation on a range of subjects related to feminism, including protest movements, policy and reactionary backlashes. In June 2022, my narrative longread for The Guardian, “Hunting the men who kill women: Mexico’s femicide detective,” won a One World Media award for best feature article of the year.
I have also written about how a group of women outed a star of the TED Talk era as a sexual predator; Spain’s first and embattled sex workers’ union; and how guns from the US fuel Mexico’s domestic violence epidemic. You can read more of my pieces here.
Having spent the first third of my life living in Belgium speaking French, the second living in the US toggling between French and English, and the third across Latin America and Spain adding Spanish to the mix of languages, my life and work have been steeped in translation and interpretation. My journalism endeavors to not only translate words but stories and ideas as well.
I am currently at work on a book of narrative nonfiction about feminist movements in Latin America and Spain.
